The Boston Celtics took a commanding 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Thursday night, routing the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 at TD Garden.

Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics with 29 points, while Jayson Tatum added 28 points and 10 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis, who returned to the Celtics lineup after missing the last two games with a calf injury, added 20 points off the bench.

The Celtics were in control from the start, jumping out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter and never looking back. They led by as many as 24 points in the second half before settling for the 18-point victory.

The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic, who finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. However, Doncic was just 7-of-22 from the field and struggled to find his rhythm all night.
