FIBA Eurobasket 2022: Germany downs Greece to advance to semifinals
Germany defeats Greece 107-96 in Eurobasket quarterfinal
Germany booked their place in the semifinals of the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket with a 107-96 victory over Greece on Wednesday night in Berlin.
After a close first half, Germany took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring Greece 20-1 in the first five minutes to take a 77-62 lead.
Greece fought back to within five points in the fourth quarter, but Germany held on to claim the victory.
Franz Wagner led the way for Germany with 25 points, while Dennis Schröder added 22 points and Daniel Theis scored 19 points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led Greece with 28 points, but it wasn't enough to prevent his team from being eliminated.
Germany will now face Spain in the semifinals on Friday night.
