At least three incidents of shark attacks reported in the Gulf of Mexico

In a rare and alarming occurrence, multiple shark attacks have left at least three victims hospitalized in South Padre Island, Texas. According to reports, local authorities responded to a series of calls Thursday afternoon regarding encounters with sharks in the Gulf of Mexico.

The most severe incident involved a man who sustained a severe shark bite near the 4100 block of Gulf Boulevard. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.

In a separate incident, two other individuals were reported to have been bitten by sharks while swimming in the area. One victim was treated for minor injuries, while the other was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

The last shark attack reported in the South Padre Island area occurred five years ago, according to officials. The sudden escalation in attacks has raised concerns among locals and tourists alike.
