Leverkusen Sign Mukiele, Alonso Seeks Improvements

Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso wants his team to "click" after they extended their winning run to four games with a 1-0 victory over Jena in the DFB-Pokal.
The German club signed defender Nordi Mukiele on loan from Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, and Alonso is hoping the Frenchman can help his side improve their defensive record.
Leverkusen have conceded 11 goals in their last four games, and Alonso knows they need to be more solid at the back if they want to challenge for the Bundesliga title.
- "We need to improve our defending," Alonso said.
- "We're conceding too many goals, and that's something we need to fix."

Mukiele is a versatile defender who can play at right-back, left-back, or center-back.
The 25-year-old has been capped 12 times by France, and he was part of the squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Leverkusen are currently sixth in the Bundesliga, and they will be hoping to climb the table with Mukiele in their team.
